United Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dutch Caribbean, Colony of Curaçao, time of King William I (1815-1840 AD), Silver Quarter Gulden (2.63g, 21.5x15mm), Emergency Issue by ‘Publicatieblad’ (publication) of 8th of June 1838, ‘C’ within incuse circle countermarked on a cut Netherlands One Gulden of King William I dated 1818-1837 (KM-55). Obverse of Host: Portions of the escutcheon of the armorial of the Netherlands; countermarked with ‘C’ within incuse circle. Reverse of Host: Portions of the Bare-headed bust of King William I facing to the right. KM-27; Scholten-1388. A charming and neatly cut triangular flan and with a decently strong countermark, overall a very admirable example of the Dutch emergency currency type, Host Coin Fine, Countermark Very Fine.
