United States of America, Colonial Issues, Æ ‘Voce Populi’ Half Penny, 1760, “No P” type, struck in Dublin, Ireland for use in America. Obverse: Laureate bust of a male figure facing to the right, legend surrounds, “VOCE POPULI”. Reverse: Hibernia seated left, draped and holding sprig aloft in right hand and long sceptre in left, Irish harp to lower right, date in exergue, legend surrounds, “HIBERNIA”. Although struck with a deteriorated obverse die, the piece is still quite attractive with nice bust and reverse, a good example of the “no P” variety of this popular issue, Very Fine or better.
