Queensland Jubilee Celebrations 1859-1909 AD, National Agricultural & Industrial Association, Silver Prize Medal (50.75g, 46mm) by Amor, awarded to Mrs G. Burgess for bottled fruits and confectionaries. Obverse: Seated figure of Britannia facing left, draped and resting her left arm upon the Cornucopia of plenty, of which fruit and other symbols of plenty cascade from, behind her sits various symbols of agriculture; ship sails in background by rising sun, “QVEENSLAND JVBILEE” above, “1859-1909” below. Reverse: Corn wreath surrounds name plate which bears the engraved inscription “MRS G. BURGESS BOTTLED FRUITS & CONFECTIONARIES”, Queensland State Badge above words “AWARDED TO” above, outer legend surrounds, “NATIONAL· AGRICULTURAL· &· INDUSTRIAL· ASSOCIATION· OF· QUEENSLAND·”. Carlisle-1909/7. Appears lightly brushed and with a few typical contact marks, otherwise choice and an attractive awarded Jubilee celebratiosn piece, Extremely Fine.
