Description
British Raj, the Princely State of Kutch, Mirza Maharao Khengarji III, Maharaja of Kutch 1875-1942 AD, Gold Fifty Kori (9.35g, 24mm), dual dated Vikram Samvat year १९३० (1930) and ١٨٧٣ (1873 AD), Bhuj mint, struck also in the name of Empress Victoria (1837-1901 AD). Obverse: Trident, crescent and dagger above legend in Devanagari, “मेाहर अथ कोरी ५० जरब कच्छ भुज १९३०”, all within inner lined border, Maharaja’s name in full in Devanagari surrounds, “पां हाराजा धिराज मिरजा महाराउ श्री प्रागमसजी बहादुर”. Reverse: Legend in four lines in Urdu naming her majesty Queen Victoria, the mint of Bhuj, and the Gregorian date in Arabic numerals “١٨٧٣”, all within floral border. KM Y-18. A nice example, even golden patina and well struck, less often seen type, near Mint State.
