Description
Gaius Messius Quintus Traianus Decius, Roman Emperor 249-251 AD, Silver Antoninianus (4.28g, 22mm), Rome mint 249-250 AD. Obverse: Radiate-crowned, draped and cuirassed bust of Trajan Decius facing to the right, legend surrounds, “IMP C M Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG”. Reverse: Trajan Decius on horseback riding to the left, holding sceptre in left hand and raising right, legend surrounds, “ADVENTVS AVG”. RIC-11b; RSC-4; Sear-9366. Slightly ragged flan, toned and decent portrait, good Very Fine, reverse less so.
