Julia Maesa, as Augusta and grandmother of Elagabalus, Silver Denarius, Rome mint 218-220 AD. Obverse: Bare-headed and draped bust of Julia Maesa facing to the right, legend surrounds, “IVLIA MAESA AVG”. Reverse: Pietas standing facing to the left, draped and veiled, holding patera in aloft right hand over altar and incense box, legend surrounds, “PIETAS AVG”. Sear-7754; RIC-263; RSC-29.
