Obverse: ‘Masonic-style’ Imperial Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire (1803–1840 AD type), mint master’s initials “ПД” (Pavel Danilov) to field below, date “1829 ГОДА” surrounds below, denomination in Cyrillic “ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ.” Surrounds above. Reverse: Weight and fineness in zolotnik and dolya written in four lines in Cyrillic, “ЧИСТАГО ЗОЛОТА 1 ЗОЛОТН= 39 ДОЛЕЙ∙”, mintmark “С∙П∙Б∙” below, imperial crown above, all within wreath of laurel and oak.
