Obverse: Crowned bust of Empress Elizabeth facing to the right, wearing elaborate gown, mintmark “С∙П∙Б” below, Cyrillic legend surrounds, “Б·М· ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ· I· IМП: I САМОД: ВСЕ РОС”. Reverse: Heraldic charge of the Armorial of the Empire of Russia (Petrovian era type), date above, denomination in Cyrillic surrounds, “МОНЕТА∙ РƔБЛЬ∙”. Edge: Cyrillic inscription in raised letters, “С.ПЕТЕРБƔРХСКАГО МАНЕТНОГО ∙ ДВОРА”. Craig-19b.4; Bitkin-260. An attractive early rouble, despite a little roughness on obverse, the piece offers a noteworthy reverse with underlying brilliance upon rotation, details Very Fine, reverse good Very Fine.
The obverse Cyrillic legend reads “Mи́лости Бо́га, Елизаве́та I императри́ца u самоде́ржица всей Росси́и” (transliterated as “mílosti Bóga, Jelizavéta I, imperatríca i samodéržica vsej Rossíi”), with an English translation of “Of God’s Grace, Elizabeth I, Empress and Autocrat of all of Russia”. The reverse legend states the denomination in Cyrillic as “моне́та рубль”.
