Germany, Weimar Republic, Silver 5 Reichsmark (25.01g, 36mm), 1927, 100th Anniversary of Bremerhaven commemorative issue, Berlin mint. Obverse: Reichsadler central over kite shield within multilayered tressure of arches, inner lined border, country and denomination surrounds. Reverse: Ship in sail to the left atop flowing waves, date below divided by the middle Coat of Arms of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, mintmark “A” to right of shield, inner collar border and legend surrounds, “·HUNDERT· JAHRE· BREMERHAVEN”. Edge: Inscription in incuse lettering, “NAVIGARE NECESSE EST”. KM-51. A scarce one-year type, lightly toned either side, detail is typically bold, a most collectible example, Extremely Fine.
