Obverse: Jugate busts of King George V and Queen Mary facing to the left, each crowned and wearing formal attire and decorated with the collar of the Order of the Garter, legend surrounds, “VI · MAII · MCMX MCMXXXV”. Reverse: Front-facing view of Windsor Castle, foliage and landscape of Castle Hill below, engraver’s initials “PM” (Percy Metcalfe) to lower right field, legend surrounds above, “STET FORTUNA DOMUS”. BHM-4249; Eimer-2029a. Official Mintage figure of 99. Certified and graded by NGC as Proof 64 Cameo. With such a miniscule mintage of 99 pieces and in such preservation – boasting a highly desirable PF64 designation – the offered piece is quite rare and highly desirable, and is certainly impressive when held in hand; a fitting piece by the Royal Mint to celebrate the King and Queen Consort’s 25th anniversary of reign. The obverse Latin legend is stated in full and reads in English as “6th May 1910 1935”. The reverse Latin Motto is stated in full as “Stet fortūna domus”, and translates to “Let fortune stay at home”.
