Obverse: Diademed and draped bust of Menander I facing right, legend in Greek around, “BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΣΩTHPOΣ MENANΔPOY” (“Basileos Soteros Menandrou”). Reverse: Athena Alkidemos standing facing left, holding horizontal shield on outstretched left arm and hurling thunderbolt with right hand, monogram to right, legend in Kharoshthi around, “maharajasa tratarasa menamdrasa” (“King Saviour Menander”). Struck off-centre, particularly on the reverse, although quite charming detail on Menander’s signature epithet of Athena. About Extremely Fine / Extremely Fine
