Description
Marcus Aurelius Carinus, as Caesar under Carus 282-283 AD, Æ Antoninianus (4.08g, 21mm), Siscia mint 282-283 AD. Obverse: Radiate-crowned, draped and cuirassed bust of Carinus facing to the right, legend surrounds, “M AVR CARINVS NOB CAES”. Reverse: Carinus, in military attire and holding short sceptre, stands on the right receiving Victoria atop globe from Jupiter, who stands nude apart from chlamys and holds long sceptre, “Γ” in field between, mintmark “XXI” in exergue, legend surrounds, “CLEMENT · TEMP”.
