Roman Republic, Q. Fabius Labeo, Silver Denarius (3.92g, 19mm), Rome mint 124 BC. Obverse: Head of Roma facing to the right, wearing winged Attic helmet, mark of value to lower right field, “ROMA” downward to left, moneyer’s name “LABEO” upward to right. Reverse: Jupiter, holding thunder aloft in right hand and sceptre in left, commands quadriga which advances to the right, prow of galley below, moneyer’s name “Q·F·ABI” in exergue. Crawford-273/1; Sydenham-532. Lightly toned on the obverse and choicely centred each side, a decent offering of the type, evenly worn and quite attractive in hand, Very Fine.
