Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, as Augustus of the Nerva-Antonine Dynasty 161-180 AD, Silver Denarius (3.16g, 18mm), Rome mint 171-172 AD. Obverse: Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius facing to the right, legend surrounds, “M ΛNTONINVS ΛVG TR P XXVI”. Reverse: Roma enthroned facing to the left, wearing crested helmet and draped in stola, holding Victoria aloft in right hand and sceptre in left, grounded round shield by throne, legend surrounds, “IMP VI COS III”.
