Seleucid Empire, Antiochos III Megas, Basileus of the Seleucid Empire 222-187 BC, Silver Tetradrachm (16.97g, 29mm, Attic Standard), uncertain ‘ΔI’ Mint in Southern or Eastern Syria circa 204-197 BC. Obverse: Diademed head of King Antiochus III ‘the Great’ facing to the right. Reverse: Apollo seated facing to the left on omphalos, testing arrow held aloft in right hand and resting left on grounded bow, “BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ” downward to inner right field, “ANTIOXOY” downward to left field, “AC” monogram (Houghton Monogram 56.2) to outer right field, mint control mark (?) “Δ I” in exergue.
