King Edward VII (1901-1910 AD), Silver Shilling, 1910, London mint. Obverse: Crowned Bust of King Edward VII facing to the right, legend surrounds, EDWARDVS VII D:G: BRITT: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP:”. Reverse: Coat of Arms of Australia, date and star below, denomination surrounds above. KM-20. Very attractive toning to this lovely example of a 1910 shilling – the first year of issue for Australia’s Pre-Decimal coinage. Near Uncirculated / Uncirculated.
The Obverse Latin legend reads “Edwardus Septimus, Deī Grātiā, Britanniārum Omnium Rēx, Fideī Dēfēnsor, Indiae Imperātor”, with an English translation of “Edward the Seventh, by the Grace of God, King of all the British People, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
