Walter Leslie Shipway from Keilli in South Australia embarked on the 18th of November 1915 for overseas service soon after enlisting into the Australian Infantry Forces on the 7th of September.
Shipway was wounded in action near Gaza, Palestine, on the 19th of April 1917 with a gunshot to his right shoulder and was evacuated immediately thereafter.
