JAMES COOK DISCOVERER OF HAWAII” to left field, motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” to right field, denomination surrounds below, country surrounds above. Reverse: Native Chieftain stands left, extending right hand in welcome and holding spear in left, coconut tree in background, motto “E · PLURIBUS · UNUM” to left field, date range “1778 1928” below. KM-163. Mintage of 10,008. Certified by Numismatic Conservation Services as UNC Details, Improperly Cleaned. A quite scarce issue, particularly in grade – the offered piece is a perfect, not overly pricey example of this key date commemorative.
