Description
Cilicia, Kelenderis, Silver Stater of two siglos (10.78g, 19mm, Persian Standard), circa 430-420 BC. Obverse: Youthful rider seated sideways atop horse prancing to the left, nude and holding riding crop in left hand, preparing to dismount, exergual-ground line below. Reverse. Goat kneeling to the left, head turned back to the right, ivy branch with fruit and leaf to upper right, “KEΛ” above, exergual-ground line below. SNG von Aulock 5625 var. Appears previously cleaned and with some minor staining, otherwise struck on a very broad flan with great reverse detail, Very Fine / good Very Fine.
