British Empire, Ceylon, King George IV (1820-1830), Silver Rix Dollar (8.99g, 26.5mm), 1821. Obverse: Laureate head of King George IV facing to the left, legend surrounds, “GEORGIUS IV D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:”. Reverse: Elephant stands facing to the left, wreath surrounds below, date below ribbon, legend surrounds above, “CEYLON ONE RIX DOLLAR”. KM-84. A very appealing grade for a scarcer type, likely one of the finer known examples on the retail market, near Mint State if not so.
