Napoleonic Spain, Client-state of the French First Empire, Principality of Catalonia, Silver Five Pesetas (26.96g, 39mm), 1809, Barcelona mint. Obverse: Denomination central above crossed palm branches, all within collar, date below, legend surrounds, “EN BARCELONA”. Reverse: Lozenge Shield of Arms of the city of Barcelona, oak wreath surrounds. KM-69. Typically weak over the central obverse devices, minor marks and scuffs in field and minor adjustment marks, a collectible type and better in hand, near Extremely Fine.
