Dutch Republic, the Netherlands, Gold One ‘Bezemstuiver’ (1.70g, 16mm), 1766, Holland mint. Obverse: Province and date in four lines, “HOLLANDIA· 1766”. Reverse: Bundle of 7 arrows, representing the Seven United Provinces of the Netherlands, centred between the denomination, wreath border surrounds. KM-91a; Delmonte-820. An attractive stuiver in gold, less often seen, near Mint State.
The Bezemstuiver was stuck in gold for mint officials only and not intended for circulation, the regular currency Stuivers were struck in silver.
