Description
Celtic Britannia, the Iceni, inscribed coinage, Silver Unit (1.28g, 13mm), ‘ECEN Corn Ear’ type, circa 10-43 AD. Obverse: Pair of opposing voided crescents with two pellets between, all on a central band set on a perpendicular wreath. Reverse: Celticized horse right, large oval shaped head with pellet eye and corn-ear mane, two pellets on shoulder, pelleted sun above, line of pellets and “[CEN]” below. ABC-1657. Well struck and nicely toned, obverse with some adhesions and a bit soft, Very Fine, reverse good Very Fine.
