Signed by Commonwealth Bank Governor Sir Ernest Cooper Riddle KBE and Secretary of the Treasury Sir Henry John Sheehan CBE. Renniks-44aF. A most desirable early 5 pound first prefix, evidence of circulation with light centre fold, lightly flattened in the past, near Very Fine.
Design: Obverse features the bust of King George V within the left-hand side ornate mantle, bare-headed and wearing military uniform, and the Coat of Arms of Australia in the right; at the centre “COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA” within ornate frame above central detail noting the denomination, declaration of authenticity within Australia, serial number and signatures; mosaic frame surrounds. Reverse features two panels, on the left a depiction of commerce with three workers, and “FIVE” on the right, denomination central, all within mosaic frame.
