Marcus Aelius Aurelius Verus Caesar, as Caesar of the Nerva-Antonine Dynasty under Antoninus Pius 138-161 AD, Silver Denarius (3.01g, 18mm), Rome mint 145-147 AD. Obverse: Bare head of Marcus Aurelius facing to the right, legend surrounds, “AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F”. Reverse: Honos stands facing to the left, togate and olive branch aloft in right hand and resting cornucopia in left arm, legend surrounds, “COS II”. RIC-429a (Pius); RSC-110. Deeply toned, some light metal stress, a nice piece of a young Marcus Aurelius, good Very Fine.
