Obverse: Bare head of King Umberto I facing to the left, engraver’s name “SPERANZA” (Filippo Speranza) incuse on truncation, date below, legend surrounds, “UMBERTO I RE D’ITALIA”. Reverse: Shield of Arms of the House of Savoy (adjusted lesser coat of arms of Italy) surmounted by royal crown and surrounded by the collar of the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation, denomination “L 20” to inner field either side, mintmark below, radiant star above, branch of laurel surrounds left, branch of oak surrounds right, tied below by ribbon enveloping the collar badge.
