Description
Commonwealth of the Phillipines, Silver One Peso, 1936, Establishment of the Commonwealth commemorative issue, Manila mint. Obverse: Coat of Arms of the Phillipines, date below, legend surrounds, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Reverse: Jugate Busts of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Manuel L. Quezon facing to the left, each wearing suit, Commonwealth’s inauguration date above, denomination below, legend surrounds, “COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES”. KM-177. Regrettably, this piece has been lightly brushed in the past, an unfortunate caveat to its superior grade – comparable examples reach grades of at least MS63 (a very close example selling for the equivalent of AU$533), Mint State.
