George V of the House of Windsor, King of the United Kingdom 1910-1936 AD, Silver Eight-Piece Proof Set, 1911, each certified and graded by NGC, includes Half Crown NGC PF61, Florin NGC PF65, Shilling NGC PF65, Sixpence NGC PF65, Maundy Groat NGC PF65, Maundy Threepence NGC PF65, Maundy Twopence NGC PF64, & Maundy Penny NGC PF63. KM-PS19. Mintage of 2241 Proof Sets. In hand, the half-crown is a superb piece and in similar preservation to the other denominations and therefore under-graded at PF61 compared to mostly PF 65’s of the whole set, a fairly well-matched set with deep toning, Fleur de Coin.
The Latin legend of each coin is the Royal titulature of King George V and reads unabridged as “Geōrgius Quīntus, Deī Grātiā, Britanniārum Omnium Rēx, Fideī Dēfēnsor, Indiae Imperātor”, with an English translation of “George the Fifth, by the Grace of God, King of all the British People, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
