Obverse: Bare Head of King George VI facing to the left, engraver’s initials “HP” (Thomas Humphrey Paget) below bust, legend surrounds, “GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP.”. Reverse: Three-headed ‘thrift’ plant at centre, denomination above, date below. Spink-4112; KM-849. Few typical spots, as well as minor contact marks – less then often seen, great level of detail, details virtually as struck, good Extremely Fine and rare.
The Obverse Latin legend reads “Geōrgius Sextus, dei grātia, Britanniārum Omnium Rēx, Fideī Dēfēnsor, Indiae Imperātor”, with an English translation of “George the Sixth, by the Grace of God, King of all the British people, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
