Private William Lean served with the Royal Marines during the Second Syrian War 1840 aboard H.M.S. Talbot, a 28-gun Atholl-class Sixth-rate Frigate, and was awarded his Naval General Service with clasp SYRIA (confirmed on medal roll). Later, he was attested as a Royal Marine during the Baltic Campaign 1854-1855 as well as the Second China War 1861, and received each medal accordingly.
Lacking in service details, medals loose and unmounted, first and third with clear brooch mount marks, few contact marks, condition Very Fine.
