Brazil, First Republic, Gold 10,000 Reis (8.96g, 22.50mm), 1908. Obverse: Bust of the Efígie da República facing to left, wearing archetypical Phrygian cap, inner line border around, date below, legend surrounds, “REPUBLICA DOS ESTADOS DO BRAZIL”. Reverse: Coat of Arms of Brazil, denomination below, legend surrounds above, “ORDEM E PROGRESSO”. KM-496. Despite a few minor hairlines and marks, a bold example and a type growing in appreciation, near Mint State.
