Description
Pamphylia, Aspendos, Silver Stater of Two Siglos (10.87g, 22mm, Persian Standard), circa 400-370 BC. Obverse: Two wrestlers grappling, each nude, “ΔA” below. Reverse: Slinger, wearing short chiton, discharging sling to the right, clockwise triskeles of human legs to right field, “EΣTFEΔIIYΣ” upward to left. SNG France-86. Some flat striking either side, otherwise in great preservation with idyllic toning and underlying lustrousness, the desirability furthered by the entire legend fully on flan, near Extremely Fine or very nearly so.
