Type 1 – Design: Obverse features the bare head of King George V in the right-hand side frame and the Coat of Arms of Australia in the left; at the centre “COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA” above central detail noting the denomination, declaration of authenticity within Australia, serial number and signatures; all within mosaic frame. Reverse features a depiction of Captain Cook’s landing at Botany Bay, denomination either side, all within mosaic frame.
