Augustus, Roman Emperor 27BC – 14 AD, Silver Denarius (4.00g, 20mm), struck at Colonia Patricia 18 BC. Obverse: Bare Head of Augustus facing right, legend around, “AVGVSTVS CAESAR”. Reverse: Circular shield inscribed “CL· V” at the centre, “S P Q R” at each corner, all between two standards: Legionary Aquila to left, Signum to right, legend above and below, “SIGNIS RECEPTIS”.
