Imperatorial Rome, the Assassins of Caesar, Gaius Cassius Longinus, as Roman Senator and General, Silver Denarius (3.88g, 18mm), military mint moving with Cassius and Brutus, likely in Smyrna (?), Spring 42 BC, moneyer issue in the name of P. Cornelius Lentulus Spinther the Younger. Obverse: Veiled, diademed and draped bust of Libertas facing to the right, wearing pearl necklace, “C· CASSI· IMP” upward to left, “LEIBERTAS” upward to right. Reverse: Capis left and littus right, moneyer’s name “LENTVLVS SPINT” in exergue. RSC-6; Crawford-500/5.
