Flavius Valerius Constantinus, Roman Emperor of the Constantinian Dynasty 306-337 AD, Æ Follis (4.14g, 24mm), Londinium mint 312-313 AD. Obverse: Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantine I ‘the great’ facing to the right, legend surrounds, “CONSTANTINVS P F AVG”. Reverse: Constantine I in military attire standing facing to the right, holding spear in right hand and globe aloft in left, star in left field, mintmark “PLN” in exergue, legend surrounds, “PRINCIPI IVVENTIS”. RIC-265; Cloke & Toone-7.11.003. Obverse appears very soft due to the poor striking – clear bounced dies on reverse, great portrait nonetheless, details near Extremely Fine.
