Description
Marcus Aurelius Carinus, Roman Emperor during the Crisis of the Third Century 283-285 AD, Æ Antoninianus, Ticinum mint 283-285 AD. Obverse: Radiate-crowned, draped and cuirassed bust of Carinus facing to the right, legend surrounds, “IMP CARINVS PF AVG”. Reverse: Felicitas standing to the left, draped and holding caduceus aloft in right hand and leaning left albow on column, mintmark “TXXI” in exergue, legend surrounds, “FELICIT PVBLICA”. Sear-12343; RIC-295. Choicely centred with an attractive brown patina, minor rust to obverse die, although unobtrusive and still a bold portrait, near Extremely Fine, reverse good Very Fine.
