Obverse: Bare head of King George VI facing to the left, legend surrounds, “GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP.”. Reverse: Coat of Arms of Australia, Designer’s initials “K·G” (George Kruger Gray) by emu, date below, denomination surrounds above and below. KM-40. Few surface marks, particularly over George VI’s head, otherwise a decent example of the semi-key date, good Very Fine.
The Obverse Latin legend reads “Geōrgius Sextus, Deī Grātiā, Britanniārum Omnium Rēx, Fideī Dēfēnsor, Indiae Imperātor”, with an English translation of “George the Sixth, by the Grace of God, King of all the British People, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
