Obverse: Bare head of King George VI facing to the left, Designer’s initials “HP” (Thomas Humphrey Paget) in line below, legend surrounds, “GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP.”. Reverse: Tudor Crown central, engraver’s initials “K·G” (George Kruger Gray) to lower right, date below crown, denomination surrounds below, country surrounds above. KM-34. Typical minor marks, lightly toned, a decent example of the key date, good Very Fine.
The Latin legend of each coin reads “Geōrgius Sextus, dei grātia, Britanniārum Omnium Rēx, Fideī Dēfēnsor, Indiae Imperātor”, with an English translation of “George the Sixth, by the Grace of God, King of all the British people, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
